- The international festival-competition «Choice of the year» in Ukraine was founded in 2001.

The international festival-competition «Choice of the year» is the national annual project, engaged in determination and further popularization of the most highquality and known goods and services in various commodity categories on Ukrainian market. (more)

The key aim of the project is a complex estimation of quality and popularity of concrete goods or service among consumers and expertsprofessionals with the purpose of choice-determination of leaders of the year in every nomination.

This project is initiated by a company Festivals International (the USA) and European Marketing Foundation (European fund of social researches, Brussels, Belgium) at European Chamber of Commerce Industry and Trade (Brussels) (European Chamber of commerce).

Today the representative offices of «Choice of the year» are opened in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Republic Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. Also project in Moldova is starting.

During the period of work of the Festival-competition «Choice of the year» 112 companies (37 representatives of foreign companies and 75 Ukrainian national companies) in 183 nominations have taken part in it.
WHY DO THEY WORK WITH US?

Ads. Ads are everywhere. Whether we are going in the street, hurrying for a job, having a rest in a café or at home on the sofa – we are haunted by advertisements. We see big-boards, advertising cards, and videos. We walk, look down on the ground, and ads are already there! Promoters meet us in the street, snatching our sleeves, offering to listen to some useful information. We want to enjoy the view of landscape, but it turns to be hidden behind the advertisement hoarding. Internet, post, telephone – lots of bright lush messages with propositions. We are heaped by information. We go to the shop to buy some food, but shelves are overfilled by different marks. And what really should we buy? Each ad says: this good is the best! But is it really so? It’s easy to confuse. So, what to do to make the consumer’s choice deliberate and considered? What should a company do to make people recognize its good among wide assortment of others, to make its market position stronger. In such case the Choice of the year medal may help.

The determination of the winner is carried out by the marketing research, which is held by research companies of a high international level – TNS (Ukraine), Restaurant consulting (Kyiv).

After the research is finished, the results are checked and confirmed by the international auditor company – Deloitte. This is a guarantee of objectiveness and purity of the information.

The Festival has the experience of 8 years work and its organizers reform the components of its Method every year, revising the membership of Expert advice, Advertising commission, High judge, engaging only the best representatives. Also they extend the list of companies-participators in different nominations, revising previous, adding some new – according to their topicality.

If companies take part in this competition, they will get the efficient proof of their products’ quality. Owing to this, they can bring up their sale level, to gain trust of many people. The consumer from his side will get the guarantee of quality and confidence in his choice, because it is hard not to notice the well-known feature of the good – “Choice of the year” medal!!! How does the festival-competition work? The organization committee tries to include almost all trade marks which are presented on the market, presenting 10-20 or even more goods in each specifically formulated nomination for the research, for example: “Mayonnaise of the year” or “Soluble coffee of the year”. Every year new nominations appear, so this is the evidence of popularity of the festival-competition. The companies, which agree to take part in the competition, should pay participator's packet. The victory in the festival-competition offers some specific preferences. Company-winner may refuse its leader status, without payment of winner’s packet. But in such case the leadership can’t be given to other participators (no second and third places) – nomination is closed and results are not reported. Because of this the honesty is guaranteed – a winner gets his medal not for money, but only as confirmation of the good’s position according to the research.

In such way, the reward of the “Choice of the year” competition – sign of distinction, that gives positive on commercial point of view, but moral also – not only for companies, but for users to.
